Most meatballs in Pittsburgh come off a truck. Ours come off a table — rolled by hand in the same USDA-inspected kitchen where we've made Italian sausage since 1945. Lil's recipe hasn't changed: real meat, real seasoning, no fillers doing the heavy lifting, simmered in sauce until they're tender enough to cut with the side of a fork.

They're the heart of Lil's Meatball Sandwich — three meatballs, sauce, and Grande cheese on a Mancini's roll — and the reason people drive across the river on their lunch break. They also anchor our catering trays when Pittsburgh throws a party.

Are they really hand-rolled?

Every one. It's slower and it costs more, but a hand-rolled meatball holds sauce differently than a machine-formed one — looser, more tender, no rubber bounce.

Can I buy meatballs for a party?

Yes — by the piece from the case, by the tray from catering, or call 412-331-9531 and we'll plan it with you.

How do I reheat shipped meatballs?

Thaw in the fridge, then simmer in sauce until heated through — they were made to finish in the pot. 6 months frozen, 5 days refrigerated after thawing.
