Why Most Sausage Disappoints

Sunday Dinner Shouldn't
Taste Like a Compromise.

Most sausage is mass-produced, packed with fillers, and seasoned with pre-ground dust that lost its flavor a year ago. You read the label and there are twelve ingredients — half of them you can't pronounce.

Our sausage is different.

Editorial/honest lighting, slightly moody. Could also be just an honest close-up of an overprocessed industrial sausage label with the ingredient list visible.

Sunday at Your Table

This Is What Dinner
Is Supposed to Feel Like.

A pot of red sauce simmering since morning. Sausage browning in the pan. The whole house smelling like a McKees Rocks Sunday — wherever you actually live.

PHOTO: Family-style dinner table, overhead or 3/4 angle — a big pot of Sunday sauce with Ricci's sausage links and meatballs simmering, bowl of pasta, hands reaching in, wine, bread, warm candle light. Aspirational, lived-in, not staged-perfect.

80 Years in the Making

Why Your Sauce
Will Taste Like It Should.

In 1945, Ernest Ricci opened a small butcher shop in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He brought with him a spice blend from his family's hometown of Sulmona, Italy — and a stubborn refusal to change it.

Eight decades later, not a single ingredient has been altered. The same hand-mixed spices — real paprika, whole fennel seed, no ground shortcuts. The same proprietary grind. Small batches, all natural, no additives, no preservatives. The same sausage that made Ricci's a Pittsburgh institution.

Today, three generations of master sausage-makers still run the counter — and for the first time in our history, we're shipping to doorsteps across the country.

USDA Inspected Every Day Since 1973.

It's the same stamp you look for at the meat case — the mark that says careful, inspected sausage worth putting on your table. We've held that standard for fifty-plus years without missing a day. Ricci's is one of only two USDA-inspected sausage makers in Pittsburgh with its own retail counter — and the only one that also cooks. Same standard, every link.
